Nobel Laureate economist Muhammad Yunus has resumed his professional engagements following his resignation as head of the interim government.
On Wednesday, Yunus attended a board meeting of Grameen Water Ltd at the Yunus Centre in Dhaka.
After stepping down from his role as Chief Adviser in February, Professor Yunus gradually began returning to his regular professional life. On February 22, after an absence of one and a half years, he resumed office at the Yunus Centre, located in the Grameen Telecom building.
Continuing that return, he participated in the latest board meeting of Grameen Water Ltd. The meeting was chaired by Md. Ashraful Hasan.
Grameen Water Ltd works to provide safe drinking and cooking water in arsenic-affected areas of Bangladesh. The company was previously operated as a joint venture with the French firm Veolia Water.
Since stepping down from public office, Yunus has increasingly re-engaged with social business initiatives and affiliated organizations.
