PM Tarique Rahman Discusses Regional Security with UAE President in High-Level Call

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh held a high-stakes telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the implications of the ongoing military conflict involving Israel, the U.S., and Iran.

During the call on Thursday (March 5), the two leaders shared deep concerns regarding regional stability and the potential spillover effects of escalating violence. Press Secretary Saleh Shibli confirmed to BSS that Prime Minister Rahman expressed Bangladesh's unwavering solidarity with the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states during this volatile period.

The Prime Minister also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the UAE President and his government for the exceptional care provided to the Bangladeshi expatriate community living in the Emirates. Furthermore, PM Rahman took the opportunity to invite Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Bangladesh, an invitation which the UAE President accepted with pleasure, agreeing to visit at a mutually convenient time. Both leaders underscored the urgent need to de-escalate military tensions and reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful dialogue and diplomatic solutions to safeguard global security and prevent further regional catastrophe.
