Senior Tablighi Jamaat Leader Maulana Faruq Passes Away at 74

He breathed his last at around 7:15 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in the capital.

The news was confirmed by Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh (Shura-based faction).

Maulana Faruq hailed from the Pearapur area of Sadar upazila in Lakshmipur district. He had long been associated with the preaching efforts of the Tablighi movement and played a key role in spreading religious teachings across the country, centering his activities around the Kakrail Markaz.

His death has cast a deep shadow of grief across religious circles in Bangladesh. Scholars and followers have expressed their condolences and prayed for the forgiveness of his soul, while extending sympathy to his bereaved family.
