On Monday, during a phone conversation with Dr Yunus, Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes. In a post on his X account (formerly Twitter), he shared details of their discussion, describing it as a wonderful conversation.
The Pakistani prime minister said that during the call, they reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
"We exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and pledged to work together towards further enhancing our relationship in the future," he wrote.
Shehbaz Sharif also announced that Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister would visit Dhaka on April 22, accompanied by a trade delegation.
The visit aims to discuss economic cooperation and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, the prime minister reiterated his invitation to Dr Muhammad Yunus to visit Pakistan at a convenient time. In addition, he invited Bangladesh’s legendary singer, Mrs Runa Laila, along with a cultural delegation, to visit Pakistan.
In his message, Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, saying: "The future of our bilateral ties looks bright, InshaAllah."
Meanwhile, it is expected that cultural and trade relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh will continue to play a crucial role in strengthening their diplomatic ties.
