Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar exchanged greetings on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers greeted each other while foreign ministers and senior representatives gathered for the 33rd ARF Foreign Ministers' Meeting in the Philippine capital.
The brief interaction took place ahead of the formal proceedings of the regional forum.
On Wednesday, Rahman also held a series of high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the forum with the foreign ministers of the United States, Russia, China, and Pakistan.
Diplomatic sources said the discussions focused on a range of issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, trade and investment opportunities, as well as shared concerns on regional and global developments.
Rahman is leading the Bangladesh delegation at the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers' Meeting and events marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
Bangladesh's participation in the Manila meetings is part of its ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties and expand cooperation with key regional and international partners.
