Khelafat Majlis Ends Ties with Jamaat-Led 11-Party Alliance

Khelafat Majlis has announced that it is severing all ties with the 11-party political alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, saying it will no longer participate in any activities organized under the coalition's banner.

The decision was unanimously adopted at the party's Central Majlis-e-Shura general meeting on Saturday.

Under the decision, Khelafat Majlis will no longer attend any rallies, meetings, or political programmes organized by the 11-party alliance. However, the party said it remains open to considering participation in any broader political unity initiative in the future if it serves the interests of the country, the nation, and Islam.

The decision was formally announced in a press release signed by the party's Central Publicity Secretary, Engineer Abdul Hafiz Khasru, following the meeting.

According to the statement, the 11-party alliance had originally been formed as an electoral understanding. With the conclusion of the election, the alliance had effectively fulfilled its purpose. Although Khelafat Majlis participated in several joint programmes after the polls, the party has now decided to withdraw from all alliance-related activities.

The statement added that the party would consider joining any future political platform aimed at safeguarding national interests and Islamic values if such an initiative emerges.

Earlier, following the 11-party alliance's divisional rally in Chattogram on June 13, Khelafat Majlis had publicly requested that its name and the names of its leaders no longer be used in the alliance's banners, posters, or promotional materials.

The decision was taken during the third general session of the party's Central Majlis-e-Shura, held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka.

The meeting was chaired by Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad and conducted by Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Qader. It was attended by senior party leaders, including Deputy Ameers Maulana Sakhawat Hossain, Maulana Ahmad Ali Qasemi, Professor Abdullah Farid, Professor Sirajul Haque, Maulana Syed Ferdous Bin Ishaq, Mufti Abdul Hamid, Joint Secretaries General Advocate Jahangir Hossain, Muhammad Muntasir Ali, A.B.M. Sirajul Mamun, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Faisal, Professor Md. Abdul Jalil, Organizing Secretary Advocate Mizanur Rahman, Mufti Abul Hasan MP, as well as members of the party's Central Executive Council and Majlis-e-Shura.
