PM Tarique Rahman to Visit Turkey for COP31 in November

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Turkey in November to attend the upcoming United Nations climate change conference, COP31, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir has confirmed.
Kabir conveyed the information during a bilateral meeting with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklikaya in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 23rd Special Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). During the discussion, Kabir formally informed his Turkish counterpart about the upcoming visit by Bangladesh’s head of government.
The two sides exchanged views on the current regional situation and expressed their commitment to working together on a range of issues of mutual interest.
Both representatives expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Turkey, particularly cooperation in the economic and defence sectors. They also agreed to further expand the partnership across various areas and take bilateral ties to a new level.
The UN’s annual climate change conference, COP31, is scheduled to be held in Antalya, Turkey, from November 9 to 20.
Heads of state and government from around the world are expected to attend the conference, where major policy discussions will focus on limiting global warming and addressing the growing impacts of climate change.
