Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries After Being Struck by State Minister's Vehicle

A 55-year-old pedestrian, Firoza Begum, has died while undergoing medical treatment after being struck by an official vehicle carrying State Minister for Public Administration and Food, Abdul Bari, in Bogura's Shibganj upazila.

The accident occurred on Friday morning along the Mokamtala-Joypurhat road in Gopinathpur. According to local police, Firoza Begum unexpectedly stepped onto the roadway as the motorcade approached.

In an attempt to avoid a direct collision, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off into an adjacent roadside ditch.

The State Minister and his wife sustained minor injuries and continued their journey under police escort. Firoza Begum was rushed to TMSS Medical College Hospital in Bogura, where doctors pronounced her dead later that morning. Authorities confirmed that legal procedures regarding the casualty are currently underway.
