NEWS DESKLaw, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has said that the full report of the reform commissions is expected to be published on Sunday. On the same day, the heads of the six reform commissions will present a set of recommendations outlining immediate actions, mid-term plans, and proposals for post-election measures.
Dr Asif Nazrul made these remarks during a briefing organized by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday.
He said: “These recommendations and the reports of the commissions will be sent to all political parties and the forces supporting the July mass uprising on the same day.”
He added: “Following that, a formal meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be held through discussions and consensus with political parties and all the forces in favour of the mass uprising.”
He also mentioned that the heads of the reform commissions had met with the chief adviser earlier today (Tuesday) at the State Guest House Jamuna.
Dr Asif Nazrul said: "I hope this will take place in mid-February. The date will be set after discussions with political parties.”
He added: “The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission will be chaired by its head, Professor Muhammad Yunus. Representatives from all political parties and the forces supporting the movement will be present, along with the heads of the reform commissions.”
“The meeting will be held at the Foreign Service Academy," he also said.
He further said: "We expect the discussions to begin in mid-February, and if possible, continue during Ramadan, with the aim of quickly determining the necessary actions for reforms.”
“These six commissions were established to lead us towards free and fair elections while addressing urgent state reforms," he added.
