Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that recent military strikes on Iran could pose a serious threat to both regional and global stability.

During a phone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday, Erdogan expressed concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East following the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran.

According to a statement released by the Turkish presidency, Ankara is closely monitoring developments after the strikes. Erdogan said that if the military intervention continues for a prolonged period, it could lead to severe instability not only in the Middle East but also across the wider international community.

He emphasized that dialogue, rather than military action, would be the most effective way to address the ongoing crisis. Erdogan noted that there is still an opportunity to create a platform for diplomatic engagement that could help de-escalate tensions.

The Turkish president also reiterated that Turkey will continue its diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.

During the call, the two leaders also discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and the United Kingdom, highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation in several areas, including the defense industry.
