Iran has accused the United States and Israel of conducting a targeted attack on one of its banking institutions, sparking threats of widespread economic retaliation.
A spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Military Command stated on Wednesday that this "illegal" act has now justified Tehran's right to target American and Israeli financial hubs across the region. According to the state news agency IRNA, the Iranian military labeled the strike a desperate move following failed operations by US and Israeli forces.
Warning of a "painful response," Tehran advised civilians in the region to stay at least one kilometer away from US and Israeli banks to avoid potential fallout. While the threat level has escalated significantly, the specific Iranian bank targeted in the initial strike remains undisclosed.
