Attaullah Tarar has said that Iran has not yet made any formal decision about its delegation for the second round of peace talks with the United States.

In a post on X, the minister stated that Pakistan is still waiting for official confirmation from Tehran regarding its participation in the talks, which are expected to take place in Islamabad.

The situation has become increasingly urgent, as only a few hours remain before the expiration of the ongoing two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Tarar noted that the ceasefire is set to expire at 4:50 a.m. local time on Wednesday (April 22). He emphasized that a decision from Iran on whether to join the talks is now considered critical.

As a mediator, Pakistan has maintained continuous diplomatic engagement with Iran and is working to find a peaceful resolution to the crisis. Islamabad is making last-minute efforts to ensure Iran’s participation in the second round of negotiations.

These intensified diplomatic efforts are aimed at preventing a major escalation once the ceasefire expires, as concerns grow over the possibility of renewed conflict in the region.
