As part of ongoing diplomatic engagements, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has departed from Muscat for Islamabad, an Iranian source confirmed.
He is expected to land shortly at Noor Khan Airbase, located on the outskirts of Islamabad. After a brief stopover and completion of necessary formalities in Pakistan, Araghchi is scheduled to continue his journey to Russia.
Earlier on Friday, a high-level Iranian delegation led by Araghchi visited Pakistan, where they held separate meetings with the country’s prime minister and army chief. Following those discussions, the delegation departed Islamabad for Oman.
Analysts believe that these frequent diplomatic visits and engagements are primarily aimed at easing tensions between United States and Iran. Several countries, including Pakistan, are actively working to facilitate a second round of talks between the two sides.
International relations experts view Araghchi’s sudden visit to Pakistan, followed by his planned trip to Russia, as highly significant in the current global geopolitical context.
