According to a report by Reuters, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) confirmed that a commercial oil tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile roughly eight nautical miles east of Limah, Oman. The damage was severe enough to force the vessel's crew to abandon ship and seek refuge in lifeboats. The agency stated that an investigation into the attack is actively underway, though the identity and flag state of the vessel have not yet been released.

In a parallel statement, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that two separate oil tankers caught fire following explosions as they navigated the southern passage of the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian forces stated that rescue teams were dispatched to evacuate the crews to safety, though further details regarding the ownership or origin of the vessels were withheld.
