Red Alert Issued Across Parts of Saudi Arabia Amid Severe Weather Forecast

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a "red alert" warning of thunderstorms, hail, and flash floods across various regions of the country. The weather advisory will remain in effect until Friday.

According to the NCM forecast, moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected to continue across parts of Jazan, Asir, Al Bahra, and Mecca. Rainfall intensity is anticipated to increase further in parts of Jazan and Asir, while Najran is expected to witness light to moderate showers. Affected areas in Jazan include Al Raith, Harub, Al Dayer, Fifa, Al Aridah, and Baish, alongside parts of Abha, Khamis Mushait, and Mahayil Asir in Asir province, as well as Jazan city and the Farasan Islands.

Authorities warn that the adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms and hail, could trigger flash floods and torrents in low-lying areas and valleys. Residents and motorists in the affected regions have been advised to exercise extreme caution, adhere to official safety guidelines, and strictly avoid valleys and flood-prone areas.
