During this period, their combined net worth surged to a staggering $15.1 trillion.

Altrata reports that the global billionaire population grew by 8.2 percent over the past year—marking the highest growth rate in five years—while their collective wealth expanded by 12.8 percent. This astronomical sum equals roughly one-quarter of the total market capitalization of all companies listed on the S&P 500. Additionally, the number of "super-billionaires," holding fortunes exceeding $50 billion, has reached 29.

Analysts note that surging investments in the AI sector served as the primary catalyst for this wealth expansion, further enriching tech magnates like Google co-founder Larry Page, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Beyond expanding business portfolios, ultra-high-net-worth individuals are increasingly channeling their capital into professional sports franchises as "trophy assets" and committing billions to philanthropic endeavors worldwide.
