The reconstruction of Gaza is projected to cost USD 53.2 billion, according to a joint report by the World Bank, the United Nations and the European Union. The report outlines the scale of damage and the financial resources needed to restore essential infrastructure, homes, and economic stability in the region.

Devastated by nearly 15 months of Israeli aggression, according to a joint report by the United Nations, the European Union (EU) and the World Bank. AFP reported today from New York.

The Gaza and West Bank Interim Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (IRDNA), conducted by the World Bank, the United Nations and the EU, provided this cost estimate on Tuesday.

Estimates indicate that damage from the war amounts to nearly USD 30 billion, with almost half of that figure attributed to the destruction of residential buildings. Approximately 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, and many returning residents have found their homes uninhabitable.

Immediate recovery and reconstruction efforts over the next three years are expected to require around USD 20 billion, while an additional USD 33 billion will be needed for long-term rebuilding, including investments in healthcare, social services and economic revitalization.

Rebuilding efforts will necessitate a broad coalition of donors and a combination of financing methods, including private sector contributions. A strategic plan is being developed with international partners to ensure the effective delivery of reconstruction materials and the implementation of long-term recovery initiatives.
