Trump Calls on Israeli President to Pardon Netanyahu

Donald Trump has returned to the Knesset, where he spoke about the close friendship between the United States and Israel, reminding lawmakers that he moved the US embassy to Jerusalem in 2018.

He then urged Israeli President Isaac Herzog to grant Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a pardon” in recognition of his leadership during the war in Gaza.

“This has been one of the greatest wartime presidents,” Trump said, pointing towards Mr Netanyahu. “And cigars and champagne — who the hell cares about them, all right? Enough controversy for the day, right?”
