Pentagon Chief to Hold Press Conference on U.S.-Israel Joint Military Operation

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will hold a press conference Monday morning regarding the ongoing joint military operation conducted by the United States and Israel. It will be the first press briefing by a senior official since the operation began on Saturday.

In a statement posted Sunday on X, the United States Department of Defense said the press conference is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. It also confirmed that Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will participate in the briefing.

The White House announced Sunday that Hegseth will travel to Congress on Tuesday along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio to brief lawmakers on the progress of the military operation.

Opposition Democrats have alleged that they were not consulted prior to the launch of the operation.

U.S. and Israeli forces carried out strikes inside Iran on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported Sunday that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in an attack in Tehran. There has been no independent confirmation of the claim.
