In a dramatic confrontation within the U.S. Senate, former Marine Bryan McGinnis sustained a broken arm while protesting American military involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict.

The incident occurred last Wednesday during a Senate Armed Services Subcommittee hearing, where McGinnis disrupted proceedings by shouting, "Israel is the root cause of this war, and Americans do not want to fight for them." As Capitol Police and Republican Senator Timothy Patrick Sheehy attempted to forcibly remove him from the room, a violent scuffle ensued. During the struggle, McGinnis’s arm was caught in a closing door, resulting in a severe fracture that witnesses claim was audible throughout the hallway.

Following the altercation, law enforcement charged the 44-year-old veteran with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Senator Sheehy later defended his intervention on social media, stating he assisted police in neutralizing a "frenzied" protester who had come looking for a confrontation. Despite his injury, McGinnis remains defiant, reaffirming his candidacy for the U.S. Senate from North Carolina under the Green Party banner. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed that this physical sacrifice has only strengthened his resolve to represent the public's growing frustration with foreign military interventions. Verified footage of the incident continues to spark intense debate over the use of force within the Capitol.
