The U.S. State Department has urged American citizens in the Middle East to exercise maximum caution and remain highly alert as conflicts in the region continue to escalate.
In a worldwide security alert, the department said the current security environment across the Middle East has become increasingly complex and warned that conditions could deteriorate further at any time.
The advisory urged U.S. citizens to prepare for possible travel disruptions, including flight cancellations, temporary airspace closures, and other complications related to movement across the region.
The State Department also warned that U.S. facilities and American interests in various parts of the world could become potential targets amid heightened tensions, issuing additional security guidance for citizens and personnel.
The department said the alert was issued as a precautionary measure to help address the evolving situation and ensure the safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad.
