US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll Resigns

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has resigned after serving for nearly 18 months, following months of friction with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The White House confirmed Driscoll's resignation on Monday.

According to BBC's US partner CBS and Reuters, the 41-year-old Driscoll submitted his resignation amid ongoing tensions with Hegseth. Praising Driscoll—often referred to in the Trump administration as "Trump's drone man"—the White House stated that he played a highly effective role in advancing the administration's agenda and in discussions aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Driscoll's resignation comes at a time of sweeping leadership changes at the Pentagon, which has recently seen the departure of Navy Secretary John Felan and several other senior military officials. Reports indicate that disagreements with the Pentagon leadership over modernization and drone technology initiatives, alongside the departure of Driscoll's close friend General Randy George, further deepened the friction.
