US President Donald Trump has denied ordering any temporary suspension of Starlink satellite internet services for Ukraine’s armed forces, according to a report by Anadolu Agency on Friday.
Responding to reporters’ questions at the White House, Trump said he had not made such a decision and did not believe Elon Musk had done so either. He added that, to his knowledge, the service was operating as usual.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Starlink services had not been completely shut down but that reduced speed limits had restricted their use for military and humanitarian operations.
Speaking on the sidelines of a European Union summit in Brussels, Zelenskyy also said Washington had assured Kyiv that the service would be fully restored.
Starlink, operated by SpaceX, has played a significant role in providing satellite internet connectivity to Ukrainian forces and supporting communications amid the ongoing war with Russia.
