With midterm elections fast approaching, President Donald Trump’s public approval rating has plummeted to a record low of 31 percent, according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos public opinion survey.

Mounting dissatisfaction over soaring energy costs, economic management, and military interventions has severely eroded voter confidence, with 68 percent expressing disapproval of the administration’s handling of the economy. A distinct shift among female voters has significantly contributed to this decline, as 50 percent now state a preference for Democratic candidates compared to 32 percent favoring Republicans.

The nationwide poll indicates that registered voters favor the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by a 12-point margin (47 percent to 35 percent). This substantial gap provides a major boost for Democrats seeking control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the upcoming November 3 elections. Losing legislative control of either chamber would present severe obstacles for President Trump during the remainder of his term.
