NEWS DESKThe much-anticipated 'July Declaration' will be formally presented on Tuesday, August 5, at 5:00 PM in a grand public event at Manik Mia Avenue, Dhaka. The announcement was made through a verified Facebook post from the Interim Government’s Chief Advisor on Sunday.
The post recalls that on “36 July 2024” - a symbolic date - Bangladesh witnessed an unprecedented mass uprising. The authoritarian regime was overthrown, and the country united in a wave of people’s power and sacrifice. The streets overflowed with jubilant citizens offering prayers of gratitude, and a new chapter began for the nation.
To mark the first anniversary of this historic moment, a full-day celebration titled "36 July Udyapan" (Celebration) will be held at Manik Mia Avenue. The program will begin at 11:00 AM and will feature a series of events, culminating in the formal reading of the July Declaration at 5:00 PM. The day will conclude with a live musical performance by the popular rock band Artcell at 8:00 PM.
The event is being organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, with management support from the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and cooperation from the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat.
According to the statement, the July Declaration has been finalized by the interim government in consultation with major political parties, including the BNP. These parties have agreed on granting the declaration both constitutional and state-level recognition.
In a separate Facebook post on Saturday, the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, confirmed, “On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the presence of all stakeholders of the mass uprising, the July Declaration will be presented before the nation.”
Preparations are already underway in Dhaka for this significant event. Organizers have called it not just a celebration, but a defining moment in the nation’s journey toward a new future.
