Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that prisoners and all the individuals involved in vote casting procedure will be able to cast vote this time.
He said that arrangements will be made for 1 million people involved in the electoral system, starting from the presiding officers, returning officers and members of the law enforcement forces.
He shared the information at the closing ceremony of the basic training (fourth phase) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force members on Monday.
The CEC said: "Starting from the presiding officers, returning officers and law enforcement forces, about 1 million people will be involved in the upcoming 13th national election. Those who are in charge of the elections cannot cast their votes. We have taken the initiative this time so that all those who will be in charge of the election arrangement can exercise their voting rights. An app will be launched. All those who will be in charge of the elections will register. The ballot will reach your home address. You can vote according to the guidelines."
Mentioning that inmates and convicts are also citizens of this country, Nasir Uddin said: "We have taken measures so that they can also vote. Besides, expatriates will also be able to cadt vote this time."
