Sharif Osman Hadi Admitted to Singapore General Hospital After Being Shot in Dhaka

Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Manch and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, has been admitted to Singapore General Hospital.

The information was confirmed on Monday by Dr. Abdul Ahad, a resident physician in the Neurosurgery Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and member secretary of the National Health Alliance.

According to him, Sharif Osman Hadi was taken to Singapore General Hospital at 6:50 pm (Bangladesh time) and admitted there, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Earlier in the day, at 1:55 pm, he departed for Singapore aboard an air ambulance from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

It may be recalled that Sharif Osman Hadi was critically injured on Friday afternoon when unidentified assailants opened fire on him from a motorcycle on Box Culvert Road in the Purana Paltan area of the capital. The attack took place a day after the election schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election was announced.
