Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that they had not gone to bid farewell to martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
He said, “You’re in our hearts. As long as Bangladesh exists, you’ll remain in our heart,” Yunus said while speaking before the namaz-e-janaza of Hadi at the Jatiya Sangsad South Plaza on Saturday afternoon.
Mentioning that people were coming like a wave to attend the Janaza and are waiting to hear about Hadi, he said, “Today, those who are abroad, Bangladeshis, also want to know about Hadi at this moment.”
“Dear Osman Hadi, we have not come to bid farewell to you. Here, you are in our hearts and as long as Bangladesh exists, you will be in the hearts of all Bangladeshis,” Dr Yunus continued.
Highlighting that the generation-to-generation will work on fulfilling what Hadi was dreaming of, he said, “We have come to you to make that promise.”
“Wherever we are, everyone is praising your love for humanity, your manner, your interaction with people, and your political views. We are taking that to heart. May it always be in our minds. We can follow it.”
Underscoring the mantra that Hadi gave to the nation will never be forgotten and will ring in everyone’s ears forever, Yunus said that Hadi’s mantra will become the great mantra of Bangladesh and will be connected to our nation. His mantra was- Bolo bir, Bolo unnoto momo shir- and it will continue inspiring Bangladesh children.
Saying that the head of Bangladeshi people will never bow, CA said, “We will prove in all our works that we will walk with our heads held high in front of the world, we will not bow our heads to anyone. You gave us that mantra; we will fulfill it.”
“Dear Hadi, you wanted to take part in the election. In expressing your desire to contest, you also taught us how elections should be conducted. Let us all accept that process,” Yunus said, adding that Hadi has taught people everything about how to conduct the campaign, how to go to the people, how to express your views without hurting the people, how to approach the people humbly, everything.
“By embracing the lessons you gave us, we ensure that you remain alive in our memories. Hadi, you will never be lost. No one will ever be able to forget you. You will remain with us for decades,” Prof Yunus added.
