Nuclear Weapons Are Only Option to Defend Against US Threats : North Korea

North Korea has declared that its status as a nuclear-armed state is "irreversible," according to a statement released by its Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

On Monday, the country’s state-run news agency, KCNA, reported that Pyongyang does not recognize U.S. demands for denuclearization. The announcement, directed to the United Nations offices and international organizations in Vienna, stated that North Korea's nuclear status is permanently enshrined under its highest law and will not be changed.

North Korea condemned U.S. pressure as "provocative" and accused Washington of interfering in its internal affairs. It further emphasized that possessing nuclear weapons is the “inevitable option” to defend the country against the threat of U.S. nuclear aggression.
