Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken up a new position at the prestigious University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Trudeau has joined the university's Blavatnik School of Government as a Distinguished Fellow and a member of its World Leaders Circle, the institution confirmed in a press release on Friday.
The appointment makes Trudeau part of an international group of former world leaders. The group already includes former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Trudeau served as Canada's prime minister for 10 consecutive years, from 2015 to 2025, before stepping down from the position.
Speaking about his new role, the 54-year-old Trudeau said he hoped to share lessons from his decade in office with students.
He noted that during his tenure, the world underwent significant transformations in global politics and technology, fundamentally reshaping the international landscape.
Blavatnik School Dean Ngaire Woods said direct exposure to the experiences of former world leaders would play an important role in helping students prepare to become future leaders.
Since leaving office, Trudeau has remained active in international political and social affairs. He is expected to visit Oxford later this month.
Trudeau has also recently ventured into the entertainment industry. Alongside his former aide Katie Telford, he launched a film and television production company called 'Hope and Hard Work' following his departure from politics.
