Recent disclosures about President Donald Trump’s new strategy have drawn attention to his criticism of European countries, particularly regarding the European Union’s perceived influence and immigration policies.

The United States has framed its position under the principle of “America First,” suggesting that global affairs should be viewed through the lens of U.S. interests.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has strongly criticized this stance, stating that Germany does not support the U.S. critique. He emphasized that Germany aligns with the European Union’s perspective on these issues.

Germany further clarified that, as a NATO member, it regards the United States as an extremely important partner. However, in matters of NATO’s view of Russia, Germany agrees with the alliance’s assessment but does not endorse any additional threats outside the Transatlantic framework.

On the issue of immigration, Germany made its position clear: it stands in support of immigrants and advocates for humane and fair migration policies.
