Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports will only escalate instability in the Gulf region and is destined to fail in its objectives.

In a statement released on Thursday (April 30), Pezeshkian argued that any attempt to impose restrictions in defiance of international law is counterproductive. He emphasized that such measures, rather than enhancing regional security, serve as a primary source of tension that disrupts long-term stability.

Amidst the standoff, Tehran has issued a chilling warning regarding a new tactical weapon to be deployed against U.S. and Israeli forces—a weapon they claim the enemy "deeply fears." Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Navy, stated that this secret asset would soon confront opposing forces, jokingly adding that it might even cause "heart attacks" among adversaries. This escalation follows President Donald Trump’s rejection of an Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting sanctions. Admiral Irani further mocked the Trump administration’s economic pressure campaign, labeling their military strategies a "laughing stock" in global military academies.
