Facebook and its messaging platform Messenger experienced a sudden disruption on Friday, with thousands of users reporting being automatically logged out and unable to access their accounts.

According to reports cited by the news outlet Unilad, users across multiple regions have faced difficulties accessing Facebook services, with many stating that they were unable to log in or load their news feeds properly.

Outage tracking platform DownDetector reported that around 5,700 users had reported issues within a 24-hour period, with the disruption peaking around 8 p.m. Bangladesh time. The majority of reports reportedly came from users in the United States and the Philippines.

The exact cause of the disruption has not yet been confirmed. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Messenger, has not issued an official statement explaining the outage or providing a timeline for resolution.

Meanwhile, users took to other social media platforms to share their experiences, with many reporting being unexpectedly logged out of their accounts, while others said their feeds failed to load or the apps were functioning intermittently.

Technology analysts say such outages can occur due to server-side issues, configuration errors, or large-scale system updates, but emphasized that no verified technical explanation has yet been provided in this case.

Experts are advising users to remain patient while services stabilize, noting that major platform disruptions are typically resolved once underlying technical issues are identified and addressed by the provider.

As of now, there is no confirmation on how long the disruption will last, though services are expected to return to normal once Meta completes necessary system fixes.
