Dr. Asif Nazrul Plans to Write Simplified Biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Dr. Asif Nazrul, former law adviser to the interim government, has announced plans to write a biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in simple and accessible language for general readers.

In a post shared on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Dr. Nazrul said that although many renowned authors around the world have written biographies of the Prophet, he feels there is still a need for a version written in clear and easy language that ordinary readers can easily understand.

He explained that his interest in learning more about religious matters grew after performing Hajj several years ago. Following that experience, he read several biographies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Those readings inspired him to consider writing a simplified biography of the Prophet.

Dr. Nazrul said his planned work will not focus solely on the religious aspects of the Prophet’s life. Instead, he hopes to present Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from multiple perspectives. Along with highlighting his role as a spiritual guide, the book will also explore his remarkable achievements in areas such as trade, military leadership, diplomacy, governance, and human rights.

Describing the project as a massive undertaking, he wrote that he had previously begun preparations for the book. However, political changes in the country and shifts in his personal circumstances prevented him from continuing the work at the time.

He added that, by the grace of Allah, he has now returned to a more normal life and the desire to write the biography has resurfaced. He expressed hope that he will soon begin working on the project and requested prayers from the public.

Dr. Asif Nazrul currently serves as a professor in the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka.
