Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Hudaifi appointed as Chief Imam of the Holy Masjid an Nabawi

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Hudhaifi has been appointed as the Chief Imam of the Holy Masjid an Nabawi in Medina. Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Akbar has also been appointed as the supervisor of the Quran recitation program of the mosque.

The website ‘Inside the Haramain’, which is about the two holy mosques, reported this information on the authority of the maintenance of the Holy Kaaba and the Holy Masjid an Nabawi.

This well-known Islamic figure was serving as the Khatib of the Holy Masjid an Nabawi till now. Before that, he was the Imam of the first mosque built during the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He also has experience working as a lecturer in Islamic jurisprudence and monotheism at the Islamic University of Medina.

His beautiful, slow and deep recitation of the Holy Quran is so appealing and inspiring that worshippers listen carefully, think deeply, and spiritually interact with the verses he recites.

Sheikh Dr Al Hudhaifi was brought up by a religious family as his father was an imam and preacher.

Sheikh Dr Al Hudhaifi has a PhD from Al Azhar University. He teaches several Shariah sciences, mainly the Qiraat (Schools of Quran recitation) at the Islamic University in Madinah.

He also chairs the scientific committee that revises the Holy Quran copy of the Madinah Mus'haf, Bu Melha said. He is also a member of the committee in charge of recording the recited Mus'hafs at the King Fahd Holy Quran Printing Complex.
