Renowned Qari Shaykh Ahmad Ahmad Nuaina Appointed Egypt’s Chief Qari

World-renowned Qari Shaykh Ahmad Ahmad Nuaina has been appointed as Egypt’s Chief Qari (Shaykh al-Maqari al-Misriyya)—the highest official position for Quran reciters in the country. The decision was announced on Tuesday, October 14, by Egypt’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari.

This prestigious appointment is a recognition of Shaykh Nuaina’s decades-long dedication and extraordinary contributions to the service of the Holy Qur’an.

Reacting to the news, Shaykh Nuaina said:

“I am deeply grateful to Allah for this trust and honor. May He grant me the strength to fulfill this great responsibility, and may He protect our beloved Egypt under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.”

Praising him, Minister Shaykh Osama Al-Azhari remarked:

“Shaykh Ahmad Nuaina is one of the greatest Qaris of our time, who has devoted his life to serving the Noble Qur’an.”

Shaykh Nuaina was born in 1954 in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. He memorized the Qur’an at an early age and is known worldwide for his melodious and emotionally stirring voice, which has touched the hearts of Qur’an lovers across the globe. He has also visited Bangladesh several times, leaving a profound impact on the Qur’an recitation community there.
