Bangladeshi Women Achieve Major Success at Qatar’s Quran Competition

Bangladeshi women have achieved remarkable success at the 30th Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Quran Memorization Competition held in Doha, Qatar. Competitors from Bangladesh secured top positions in two major categories, with a total of five Bangladeshi women winning awards at this prestigious international event.

Organized by the Women’s Activities Department of the Dawah and Religious Guidance Division under Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the competition honored the top five female winners across three divisions of full Quran memorization: Citizens, Advanced Memorizers, and General Memorizers. The award ceremony took place at the Sheraton Doha Hotel and was attended by senior officials from Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf along with representatives from various state institutions and educational sectors.

Outstanding Achievements in the Advanced Memorizers Category

The Ministry of Awqaf announced the winners of the Advanced Memorizers category during the ceremony. Bangladeshi participants dominated the top rankings:

  • 1st Place: Khadija Hafiz (Bangladesh) — 100,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 2nd Place: Rashida Hafiz (Bangladesh) — 85,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 3rd Place: Sajida Hafiz (Bangladesh) — 70,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 4th Place: Ayesha Omar Faruq (Bangladesh) — 60,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 5th Place: Alaa Elsayed Elsayed (Egypt) — 50,000 Qatari Riyals
  • Excellence in the General Memorizers Category
  • In the General Memorizers division, Bangladesh once again secured the top position:
  • 1st Place: Mariam Munir Al-Zaman (Bangladesh) — 100,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 2nd Place: Mafroha Bhat (India) — 85,000 Qatari Riyals

Winners in the Citizens Category

In the Citizens division, the top honors went to participants from Qatar:

  • 1st Place: Aamat Al-Rahman Abdulrahim Ahmed Mahmoud Tahan (Qatar) — 100,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 2nd Place: Amina Abdulrahim Ahmed Mahmoud Tahan (Qatar) — 85,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 3rd Place: Mariam Mohamed Khalil Baha Eldin Al-Maragi (Egypt) — 70,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 4th Place: Sara Ali Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Shaib (Qatar) — 60,000 Qatari Riyals
  • 5th Place: Amina Dasmal Mubarak Khalaf (Qatar) — 50,000 Qatari Riyals

Participation Numbers Reflect Growing Interest

This year’s competition saw enthusiastic participation, with 957 competitors registering across different categories. Among them, 546 women competed in the Citizens division, while 411 participants took part in the three divisions of full Quran memorization.

Bangladeshi women’s outstanding performance at the event highlights their growing prominence on the global stage in Quran memorization and religious scholarship.
