The Haramain Train is offering late-night and early-morning trips throughout the Hajj season to give pilgrims and travelers greater flexibility. The railway typically increases the frequency of its trips in the days surrounding Hajj to handle the high volume of passengers.
Last Departure Times During Hajj Season
The final trips of the night run as follows:
Jeddah Al-Sulaymaniyah: 2:50 AM
Jeddah Airport: 3:00 AM (Highly Recommended)
Makkah Al-Mukarramah: 2:45 AM
Madinah Al-Munawwarah: 2:45 AM
Why the Extended Hours Matter
Pilgrims performing Hajj often move between the holy cities at irregular hours — completing night prayers, rituals, or travel connections that fall well outside normal operating times.
The extended schedule allows those finishing at Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah or Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Madinah Al-Munawwarah late at night to still reach their next destination by train.
The Haramain High-Speed Railway connects Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City along a 453-kilometre line, with trains reaching speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour.
Trains can sell out weeks in advance during Hajj season, so pilgrims are advised to book early and check the latest schedule on the official Haramain Railway website before travelling.
