A video purportedly showing Britain's King Charles III reciting a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Arabic has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.

According to Pakistan's Urdu-language newspaper Daily Jang, citing international media reports on Thursday, the king recited the Hadith during a state reception held at Windsor Castle in honour of Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who is visiting Britain for a three-day official tour.

King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed the Omani sultan to Britain before hosting the ceremony in his honour.

During his speech, the king quoted a Hadith attributed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), praising the people of Oman. The Arabic quotation was reported to mean: “If you had gone to the people of Oman, they would neither have insulted you nor beaten you.”

The reported recitation has attracted considerable interest on social media, with many viewers focusing on the British monarch's use of Arabic to reference the Islamic tradition.

In his address, King Charles highlighted the longstanding partnership between the United Kingdom and Oman. He also praised Oman's efforts to promote dialogue and understanding among different parties during periods of conflict.

The visit is particularly significant as it marks the first visit to the United Kingdom by an Omani sultan in 44 years.

The video and the precise attribution of the quoted Hadith could not be independently verified from the information provided in the report.
