Thousands of people across Türkiye took part in a protest Sunday against Israel’s attacks on Gaza under the motto “Gaza is Dying! Rise Up!” People in several provinces of the country expressed their support for Palestine.

Hundreds gathered at Beyazıt Square in Istanbul for a march that the Turkish non-governmental organization the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation had called for days in advance to draw attention to Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, which have claimed thousands of lives.

Starting at 2 p.m. local time, participants marched along Yeniceri Street chanting slogans such as “Murderer Israel, get out of Palestine” waving Turkish and Palestinian flags. Members of the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform (ANFIDAP) staged a protest in front of the US Embassy in Ankara.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Morocco earlier this month to protest the Israeli military's brutal crackdown on the occupied West Bank and the Palestinian people. Protesters also expressed anger at the United States for supporting Israel in the nearly 18-month-long war.

It was one of the largest demonstrations in Morocco in months. Protesters gathered in various areas of the capital Rabat on Sunday (April 6) local time. Protesters were seen trampling Israeli flags.

Gathering in front of Tugba Altinok Cukurambar Central Mosque in Ankara, they carried banners saying “Baby-killer Israel” and “People are dying in Gaza, humanity is dying worldwide,” chanting slogans against Israel and the US.
