Former Pakistani minister and president of the political party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rahman, signed the condolence book following the death of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

On Monday, Fazlur Rahman visited the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, where he met Bangladesh’s Political Counsellor and Charge d’Affaires Ishrat Jahan. During the visit, he recited Fatiha for Khaleda Zia and signed the condolence book, according to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) spokesperson Aslam Guri.

Additionally, Fazlur Rahman shared a photo of his signing on his verified Facebook page at 6:00 pm Bangladesh time.

Fazlur Rahman had previously visited Bangladesh in November. During his week-long trip, he attended a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka and held multiple meetings aimed at resolving disputes between the two factions of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh.

Ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections, both factions of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam have allied with the BNP, with five party leaders already vacating seats for BNP candidates.
