US President Donald Trump plans to host the first meeting of his newly formed ‘Board of Peace’ on February 19 in Washington, aiming to raise funds for the reconstruction of war-torn Gaza. Invitations have reportedly been sent to leaders of several countries, and the meeting is scheduled to take place at the United States Peace Institute.

Alongside global leaders, members of Gaza’s executive committee—responsible for overseeing the territory’s future governance, security, and reconstruction—are also expected to participate. However, it remains unclear whether all invited leaders will attend. So far, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban has confirmed his participation.

Trump established the Board of Peace at the end of January and serves as its chairman. The board aims to address global conflicts and promote solutions. Its executive committee includes Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

At least 50 countries have been invited to join the initiative, including US allies as well as countries such as Russia and China. Some experts have expressed concerns that the new initiative could impact the role of the United Nations in global peace and conflict resolution efforts.
