U.S. President Donald Trump has said that any decision to end the war with Iran will be made jointly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a phone interview on Sunday, Trump stated that discussions between the two leaders are currently ongoing and that a decision will be made at the appropriate time.
“We are talking about it,” Trump said, adding that both sides are in communication regarding the situation.
During the interview, Trump was asked whether Israel would continue the war against Iran on its own if the United States decided to halt its attacks. In response, the U.S. president declined to speculate on that possibility.
“I don’t think that will be necessary,” Trump said, without elaborating further.
