Tensions across the Middle East have escalated further following a 48-hour ultimatum issued by Donald Trump, with particular focus on the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

In response to the warning from the United States, Iran has indicated it could retaliate by targeting energy infrastructure linked to the U.S. in the Gulf region.

Tehran has also stated that vessels not affiliated with hostile parties may pass safely through the Strait if they coordinate with Iranian authorities. This reflects Iran’s effort to assert control over one of the world’s most critical maritime routes, through which a significant portion of global energy supplies is transported.

Analysts say maintaining influence over the Strait of Hormuz is one of Iran’s most powerful strategic tools. Any decision to ease restrictions in the area could weaken Tehran’s leverage in the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, concerns are growing over Trump’s warning that Iranian power plants could be targeted if demands are not met. Experts caution that such actions could lead to severe consequences for Iran and further destabilize the region.

Despite economic hardship and internal unrest, analysts note that Iran has historically demonstrated a willingness to endure prolonged pressure. The country has faced years of sanctions and domestic challenges, yet continues to maintain its strategic posture.

Iranian leaders are also believed to view Trump’s threats as a form of political bluff, expecting that increased pressure on Gulf nations may prompt them to urge restraint from Washington.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that several countries have reached out to Tehran in search of a resolution, with Oman playing a particularly active diplomatic role.

The situation remains highly sensitive for Gulf states, whose economies depend heavily on energy exports, as well as on tourism and regional stability. Their response to the الأزمة could play a crucial role in shaping the future course of the conflict.
