U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing to participate in bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, marking Trump’s first visit to China since 2017.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold official talks on Thursday and Friday in the Chinese capital. The discussions are expected to focus on key global and bilateral issues, including trade relations, the Taiwan question, artificial intelligence, and the ongoing U.S.-Israel conflict involving Iran.

One of the most notable aspects of Trump’s visit is the presence of several prominent American technology executives in his delegation. Among them are Tim Cook, Elon Musk, and Larry Fink. According to White House sources, more than a dozen leaders from major U.S. technology companies are accompanying the president, highlighting the significance of trade and technological cooperation between the world’s two largest economies.

Under the official schedule, Trump is expected to meet Xi Jinping on Thursday morning local time for formal discussions.

Ahead of the visit, however, Beijing reiterated its firm stance on key issues in U.S.-China relations. China has outlined four “red lines” that it says must not be challenged under any circumstances. According to a statement published by the Chinese Embassy in the United States, the foremost issue is Taiwan. The other three red lines concern democracy and human rights, China’s political system, and the country’s right to development.

Beijing also stressed that the United States must refrain from interfering in China’s internal affairs and from supporting what it described as the “separatist” government in Taiwan.
