U.S. President Donald Trump has brushed aside criticism over his frequently changing positions on Iran, arguing that adapting to evolving realities is a natural part of his decision-making process.

Speaking in an interview on the Pod Force One podcast, Trump suggested that uncertainty surrounding his intentions can be advantageous.

“If they are confused, that's good. And the Iranians are still confused,” the president said.

Addressing accusations that he often changes his stance, Trump said flexibility is one of his defining characteristics.

“That’s just the way I am. It happens,” he explained. “I may tell you something as I’m leaving here, but 20 minutes later, when I get to the Oval Office, I may realize that answer is no longer correct. That’s reality. Things change, and circumstances change.”

Trump described the decision to launch military action against Iran as a deliberate and carefully considered move, insisting that he had little choice but to act when he did.

“There was no opportunity to delay that decision because the issue was extremely important,” he said. “Had I not taken that step at the time, they would have a nuclear weapon today.”

The president characterized the military strike against Iran as a necessary operation, claiming it had significantly disrupted Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

“Because of that operation, they are no longer able to develop a nuclear weapon,” Trump said. “And as a result, many positive things are going to happen moving forward.”

Trump’s remarks come amid continued debate over U.S. policy toward Iran, as well as scrutiny of his administration’s handling of escalating tensions in the Middle East. Critics have questioned the consistency of his public statements, while supporters argue that his willingness to adjust positions allows him to respond to rapidly changing geopolitical developments.
