Mirza Abbas, political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and a member of the BNP Standing Committee, will be taken to Singapore by air ambulance on Friday evening for advanced medical treatment.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, confirmed the information to the media at around 11:20 am Bangladesh time. He said that, following doctors’ advice, Mirza Abbas’s family decided to send him to Singapore for better medical care.
“He will be flown to Singapore by air ambulance at 6:00 pm today,” Shayrul Kabir Khan said.
He will be admitted to the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore for treatment.
Shayrul Kabir Khan also said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been keeping track of Mirza Abbas’s physical condition and has spoken with doctors as well as members of his family.
Mirza Abbas is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
According to family sources, he suddenly lost consciousness during iftar on Wednesday. When his condition did not improve, he was admitted to the hospital later that night.
