UAE-Based Dnata Shows Interest in Ground Handling at Dhaka Airport’s Third Terminal

UAE-based aviation services company Dnata has expressed interest in managing ground handling operations at the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The issue was discussed on Thursday during a courtesy meeting at the Secretariat between Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam, State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, and UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdulla Ali Abdulla Al Hamoudi.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. They also discussed the development of Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors in detail.

At one stage of the discussion, the UAE ambassador highlighted Dnata’s interest in handling ground operations at the airport’s third terminal.

In response, State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat said preparations for launching the third terminal are progressing rapidly. He added that the government would make the necessary decisions regarding ground handling operations once the terminal becomes fully operational and would inform relevant stakeholders about future steps.

Minister Afroza Khanam said the government is ready to take all necessary initiatives to improve service quality at the airport.

During the meeting, the UAE ambassador also expressed his commitment to working closely with the current government of Bangladesh.
