Masuma Hadi has questioned why Abdullah Al Jaber became the plaintiff in the murder case of her brother, Sharif Osman Hadi, alleging that misinformation and “dirty politics” are being spread on social media regarding the issue.

In a lengthy Facebook post published on Friday, Masuma Hadi described the circumstances surrounding her brother’s shooting and subsequent medical treatment, while raising concerns about how the case complaint was filed.

She wrote that she had initially avoided commenting on the matter despite what she described as “serious conspiracies” against her family. However, she said ongoing social media discussions regarding the identity of the plaintiff compelled her to explain the situation publicly.

According to Masuma, she traveled to Dhaka immediately after learning that her brother had been shot and remained at Evercare Hospital Dhaka throughout his treatment.

Questioning the role of authorities, she asked why law enforcement officials obtained Jaber’s signature for the case while family members were present at the hospital.

“Why did the administration collect Jaber’s signature at Evercare Hospital? And why was he allowed to sign while I was there?” she wrote, adding that she had repeatedly sought explanations.

Masuma said she was later informed that officials had approached Osman Hadi’s brother, Omar Faruk, but he reportedly stated that the family was fully occupied with medical treatment at the time and would address legal matters later.
She argued that given the emotional and traumatic circumstances, it was understandable that family members were focused solely on saving Osman Hadi’s life.

Describing the aftermath of the shooting, she said Omar Faruk had been traveling in the same rickshaw as Osman Hadi when the attack occurred and was covered in his brother’s blood after the incident.

Masuma also questioned who had allegedly informed authorities that the family was unwilling to become plaintiffs in the case for security reasons.

“If Jaber had not been from my hometown, there might have been no questions,” she wrote. “But considering how closely I was involved in my brother’s life, it should be clarified under whose authority he became the plaintiff without consulting me.”
Treatment Efforts Detailed

Masuma also outlined the family’s efforts to secure medical treatment for Osman Hadi.

She said that Omar Faruk initially took personal responsibility for arranging treatment abroad and first sent medical documents to Singapore, where the request was reportedly declined. The documents were then sent to Thailand, where treatment was approved.
According to her account, Omar personally arranged travel plans at a cost of approximately 5.2 million taka before the government later assumed responsibility for Osman Hadi’s treatment and facilitated his transfer to Singapore after a second review of his medical records.
She emphasized that she had not previously discussed these matters publicly because of the family’s grief.

“I did not want to tell anyone these things,” she wrote. “Losing Osman Hadi and living with that loss is something only Allah truly understands.”

Concluding her statement, Masuma criticized what she described as false narratives surrounding her family and urged people not to make accusations without knowing the full facts.

“You may choose not to honor a revolutionary,” she wrote, “but how can you claim the right to disrespect his family based on misinformation?”
