In a major step toward addressing the legal grievances and harassment faced by Bangladeshi expatriates, the government is set to establish dedicated divisional-level Expatriate Courts.

Speaking as the chief guest at the 30th anniversary celebration of RMMRU and the 'Sonar Manush Sammilan 2026', Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman announced that these specialized courts will exclusively handle cases involving overseas workers. Additionally, a dedicated hotline will be made operational to provide immediate preliminary legal assistance to migrants in distress.

Highlighting the pivotal role of remitting workers in sustaining the national economy, the minister shared poignant observations from his recent visit to Dubai regarding the arduous living and working conditions of Bangladeshi laborers. He emphasized that despite their grueling efforts, Bangladeshi migrants often receive lower wages compared to those from other nations. The two-day conference, chaired by RMMRU Advisor C.R. Abrar and attended by global migration experts and foreign diplomats, is scheduled to conclude with an address by President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
